Goal Setting & Growth

At this current point in time, what specific goal(s) do you have for yourself? Why?

At this point in time, I have more worries than goals. I am currently awaiting college decisions and have not been able to focus on anything else. Most of my goals relate to college. I need to study for my AP tests for college. I have to figure out how to pay for college. I have to go shopping for college. Find a job near campus. And so on. But I also have to finish up my senior year on a strong note. I need to find the motivation I was able to sustain for the past four years and use it to do well. Some of my goals this week have been to find a prom and graduation dress. Overall, I have been pretty laid back after submitting my college apps and I am glad to be able to have a stress-free school environment for the next three months.

How do you demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal? (or these goals?)

Currently, my more serious goals, all of which have to do with college, are causing me to start planning early. I have been looking for a job so I can save up some money for college. I also have been trying to buy any cute stationery, living items, or storage containers I see at stores in order to seize the anxiety I have of not being able to do it in time all by myself. I bought paperclips, which I have probably used twice over the last four years, two months ago and it managed to calm me down for two weeks. I even asked one of my cousins if they would drive me in August and help me out with setting up my room, which she gladly agreed to! Regarding the AP tests, I decided to not stray away from what has previously worked for me and start studying from the workbook. I found that simply reading the summaries from lessons that I have forgotten about has helped me with these tests.

How does the world around you affect your perception of this goal? (or these goals?)

The world around me definitely puts pressure on me and therefore on my goal. However, this is something that everyone has to achieve and go through at the same time, unlike my previous goals. We all have to leave at the same time, and we all are focusing on getting our priorities done on time. While this does add some pressure, it also reassures me.
