Goal Setting & Growth
At this current point in time, what specific goal(s) do you have for yourself? Why?
At this point in time, one specific goal that I have for myself is to get better at computer science. I’m already in a computer science class and I find it a very fun and enjoyable class. However, I feel like I’m not the best at it and would like to be better at it. Because of how much I’ve been enjoying it, I also want to major in computer science in college so becoming better at it would help me out in the future.
How do you demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal? (or these goals?)
I demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal by spending my free time learning. For the computer science class, I have to watch multiple videos in order to figure out how to do the projects that we’re being assigned. However, I have been going beyond the provided videos and watching extra random videos. This would eventually lead to me watching hours' worth of videos to learn more about that specific topic or another topic I find intriguing.
How does the world around you affect your perception of this goal? (or these goals?)
Because most of my friends and the people around me are also interested in the computer science field, this does incline me to also want to do it and learn more about it. Applying for a major in this also means that I will eventually need to know this so I might as well learn it now so I can do it in the future. In addition, I already spend a lot of time on my computer so instead of wasting my time doing something meaningless, I can do something that I am going to need later on.
