How do you reflect critically on your own beliefs, assumptions, values, and experiences, and how these can influence your perception of self and others?
I reflect heavily on my own values in life, but I will not judge too harshly if they disagree with me. I think that the values a person sets in life are heavily influenced by how they were raised. If someone is raised in a family with a certain set of values and beliefs, they are more likely to associate themselves with those values that they grew up with. I think that this is because of the fact that they listen to that one said of the story of whichever issue or topic it is, and they never hear the other side. But as a child grows older and meets new people with possibly different opinions, they tend to now challenge their original ideas that were set in their minds and might come to the conclusion that they no longer agree with what they thought their whole life. This is something that has happened to me with a number of different ideas. Different political ideas that I grew up with still resonate with me now and I agree with some of them, but disagree with others. This is different for me however than it might be for other people as I grew up with parents with different political backgrounds and that really led me to shape my opinion's more than others because I had both sides presented towards me which is why I think that do not associate myself with either party, because I agree with opinions from both sides.
In conclusion, I reflect really critically on my beliefs because in order to shape them, I needed to go through a lot of thought and reflection.
