Modern Mythology 2022 Goal Setting and Growth

At this current point in time, what specific goal(s) do you have for yourself? Why

At this current point in time I am a senior in high school, less than a month away from graduating. In a few months I will be over 1,000 miles away from home in a completely new place. One goal I have for myself is to be able to quickly acclimate to college life and to be able to balance a social life as well as succeeding in my classes. I also have to learn how to live alone when I have never experienced that. I will be living off campus so I’ll have to buy groceries, cook, and clean completely on my own. I also hope to be able to quickly adjust to this change as well as the many other changes I will experience.

How do you demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal? (or these goals?)

I demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal by creating a budget sheet. In AP Macroeconomics we are working on creating a budget sheet to budget out all of our monthly expenses. Adding onto this, me and my roommates are also creating a chores chart and stuff each of us should buy for the apartment before we get there. This will help everything get set up very quickly. I have already started looking at things for my room such as comforters and decorations so that I will be less stressed about setting up my room and so I will be focused on other more important things.

How does the world around you affect your perception of this goal? (or these goals?)

I have heard many comments that living with people is very hard and that you will probably end up hating these people by the end of the year. This gets me pretty nervous, which adds another goal to my list. My friend who currently is a freshman in college told me no matter how hard you try you’ll always get annoyed at your roommates. This makes me question if these goals I have are even attainable, but it is also motivation to rise above that and make sure that everything works out.
