At this current point in time, what specific goal(s) do you have for yourself? Why?

One goal I have for myself is to get my drivers license. I have this goal for myself because I would like to be able to drive because I think it would be a useful skill for later in life. I feel like driving is a mark of adulthood and if I learn how to drive I can be independent from my parents. Another goal I have is to get another job after I stopped working 3 months ago. I have this goal because I haven’t worked since the summer and want to get more money for myself when I go to college. I think this is important because I will need more money to pay for my tuition.

How do you demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal? (or these goals?)

I demonstrate resilience towards my goal of getting my drivers license by improving on my parking and k turns. When I first started learning to drive around 3 months ago I struggled with parallel parking. Often I would find myself parking on the curb or being too far away from it. However, I have steadily improved upon this skill to the point where I feel like I am ready to take my road test to earn my license. Additionally, I demonstrate resilience for my goal of finding a new job by looking for internship opportunities and by actively applying for jobs in my local area.

How does the world around you affect your perception of this goal? (or these goals?)

Seeing my peers get their driver's license has inspired me to get my drivers license.  In addition to this, pressure from my parents to get my drivers license for college makes me feel that achieving this goal is important for my future. This is because I will need to know how to drive a car to travel anywhere in the country outside my normal surroundings. However, the rising of gas prices to above $4 dollars a gallon has made me less excited to be able to drive a car on my own. As for my other goal, I want to get a new job because I will need to make money to pay for college as well as other expenses such as food and clothes. I also need to build a strong resume through internships for my future career endeavors.
